Background:
Hiro is a professionally registered architect with AAA, AIBC, and JIA (Japanese Institute of Architecture - where his professional career started). He has been in the Architectural industry for over 30 years internationally - Asia (Japan), Europe (UK) and Canada – and has extensive experience with a wide array of architectural projects.
After combining his cross-cultural work experience and education, he established Formtect Architecture in Calgary, Alberta in 2020, and has since expanded his practice to British Columbia.
Experience:
Hiro has experience from the early design stage through to completion working on many complex project types:

· Medical laboratory,

· Commercial and Residential high-rise,

· Mixed use multi-family residential
· Retail development master planning
His experience engaging in an integrated design approach and multi- disciplinary teams in complex projects is utilised in all aspects of his practice demonstrating a strong proficiency for all stages of project delivery.
Work Method:
He proactively manages any potential conflict with constructive solutions, managing client expectations, client requirements of financial constraints early in the design stage, as well as technical issues with S/M/E/L consultants in the process – delivering successful resolution for the client, and overall project team satisfaction.
He has further enhanced his design ability by adopting digital technology such as BIM for practical design, as well as advanced 3D Modeling and Visualization tools for design communication and marketing.
He is adopting rapidly changing technology-based design standards and methodologies, with digital products for marketing required in our current and future industry.
